The targetTool defines the tool used when --tool is not supplied. The targetOs must match the local host for install and sync.

The ~ symbol maps to MALETA_CLI_HOME when that variable is set; otherwise, it maps to the system home directory. On Windows, the equivalent path begins with C:\Users\<usuário>\.claude\skills. The shared directory is included automatically when there is a valid builtin.
#Override only the current run
For install and sync, --tool all|claude|codex|agents selects the target for that run. The option does not rewrite targetTool in maleta.json. It is not accepted by init.
#Operating system mismatch
If targetOs differs from the host, install and sync refuse to run with [error] targetOs '<x>' does not match the local host '<y>'; refusing <mode> and exit with code 4.
